Step 1 — Pickup from Jaisalmer City Your Ghummofy 4×4 picks you up from your hotel in Jaisalmer. The drive itself is part of the experience — the city gives way to scrub desert within 10 minutes and the landscape shifts dramatically as you approach the dune fields.

Step 2 — Fossil Bed Stop Your driver makes a first stop at the fossil beds on the approach road — a scattered field of ancient sea creature fossils embedded in the desert rock. A reminder that this sand was once an ocean floor. Fifteen minutes, and your sense of the desert completely changes.

Step 3 — Into the Dunes The jeep leaves the main road and heads into the dune field on tracks that only experienced local drivers know. The terrain changes from flat sand to rippled ridges within minutes. Windows down. The silence — even at speed — is remarkable.

Step 4 — High Dune Ridge Your driver takes you to the highest accessible viewpoint in the dune field. Step out, climb the last 50 metres on foot, and stand on a ridge with nothing but sand in every direction. For the sunset safari this is the main event. For the full day safari it is one of five or six extraordinary stops.

Step 5 — Village & Community Stop (Full Day only) Drive through a desert shepherd community — your driver introduces you to a family, you share chai, see the inside of a traditional Thar home and watch desert crafts being made. Twenty minutes that stay with most guests longer than any monument.

Step 6 — Return & Drop Back to Jaisalmer city or your desert camp, depending on your package. Dusty, a little sun-dazed and significantly more connected to the Thar than when you left.
